Typical for Colorado summers was my thought today: "oh well, it was only pea-sized hail." The violent storm lasted long enough to lay the dust before passing on. I went out looking for a rainbow, but found these clouds instead.
Did you use a telephoto lens for this? Or drive up to a high vantage point? It reminds me of a photo i took over Atlanta, circling a thunderstorm as we came in for an evening landing. I convinced myself the quality of the light, the low rays, would be hard to catch without being up high. So your photo tests my theory!
