It's a wallaby: a species related to kangaroos. At the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, there is a little meadow you can walk through that has the wallabies grazing. It reminded me of our trip to Australia.

Wow! I didn't realise they had wallabies in the US! Although I should have guessed they'd have them in a zoo, just never crossed my mind before. Around here it's all we can do to avoid running into the kangaroos on the road. They like to come onto the asphalt in the evenings because it's warm - and they get hit by cars. Makes a helluva mess of both car and kangaroo. Guess we get a bit blase about roos, having so many of them.
