This is one of my favorite ornaments, and one of the ones that I have had the longest.  Years ago, I had this vision that someday I would have a tree with just white lights and gold ornaments, but then where would I put this little fellow?

You could do a white and gold tree as the "main" tree and have a small tree with the cardinal and a few other colorful ornaments. Or hang him some place where he'll cheer you. (He certainly is cheery.) I don't do a big tree any more so I hang ornaments all over the house.
