I bought a few of these plants in dollar pots at a local garden club show a few years ago, so I don't know. The only thing the seller told me is that they grown well in the harsh conditions in Colorado. It took them two years to get sufficiently established to bloom. It was quite a surprise the first time they did, since I hadn't even though to ask the color.
Rats. I love phlox, and I have two kinds in my yard (white David, which gets over six feet tall, and pink with magenta eyed Bright Eyes, which, er, doesn't [g]). I would love to find a purple one like that.
