I notice that when I click for the full size version, the transition is instantaneous. Are you doing anything special to make that happen?

The full size version has already been downloaded to your PC. I am using the attribute width=432 in the img tag. This renders the image at no wider than 432 when it first shows up. A lot of sites use this system now, since it obviates the need to upload two images, or create a smaller image as a thumb nail on the fly.

I wouldn't use this system if I didn't already resize the photos to the 1023 size before I upload them. Doing this will 2 meg photos would be excessive.
