Having decided to activate this LiveJournal, I looked around for a client that would work with my Fedora Core Linux desktop. Unfortunately, most of the ones I found had conflicts with my installed software. I finally decided to use Charm, a Python based, text application. I know, text applications aren't cool, but charm allows me to use gvim, my favorite Unix-style editor. I can make gvim, a vi workalike, do almost anything. It even motivated me to learn how to make aspell, a Linux spelling utility, work with gvim.
