I have no idea if anyone will read this, because I seldom post to Dreamwidth these days although I read here every day. A few weeks ago, oursin gave me a Bluesky invite code. Bluesky is an invite only social media site. A fair number of well-known SF&F authors are posting there as the site formerly known as Twitter goes up in flames.

I gave my first invite code to Bluesky to my partner. I now have another Bluesky invite code. Send me direct mail if you would like it. Also, add a comment that you did so. If I send you the invite code, claim it within three days or I will offer it again.

Blue Blankie

During winter, Rion spends a lot of time wrapped in his blue blankie. Occasionally, I will be doing something and look down and see Rion standing quietly beside me. Sometimes that means he has to go out. And sometimes that means that Bandit has stolen the blue blankie or Rion’s crate and Rion is waiting for me to fix the situation.

You may think, why not get Bandit his own blankie? However, Bandit is not interested in having his own blankie. If Bandit has his own blankie, he will try to steal Rion’s blankie and pile them together. Bandit also has his own crate but never goes in it during the day. He would much rather sleep in Rion’s crate.

Masks in the Monday Mail

One set of masks came from California and the other set came from Alaska. Both were made by members of our family: one set by my sister, and the other set by Jack's sister. We had to make a few adjustments to make them fit, and are very grateful to add them to our collection.

Looking Back – Childhood

Finding the photo of my Grandmother’s house made me decide to look for a reasonably current photo of the house I lived in between the ages of seven and sixteen. I couldn’t find one on Google Maps, but Zillow had a recent listing of the address when I entered it.

I almost didn’t believe it was the same house we lived in. There is a lot more landscaping, and the porch now has a rail and steps. The interior is a lot different as well since some internal walls have been taken down to open up the floor plan. It also now has a finished basement with a mother-in-law suite.

What I found most surprising is how much smaller the square footage was than I expected. I remember it as being so much larger than this, probably because we had moved into it from a tiny ranch house in Rockville, Maryland.
